What is the meaning behind this song?
I lnow what the words mean I'm just wondering who is meant to be the tree and who the leaf? Is it Hashem and the Jewish nation? Or a father to his son?...

I took it to mean holding fast onto the mesorah, where we are rooted. We may end up thinking it's better if we let go, but we should hang on tight and not get swayed by what we see outside.

I think the tree is Judaism, ancient with deep roots. The leaf is a Jew -who is only strong so long as he holds on to his heritage.

Oh interesting. I didn't realize it was meant to be about yisdishkeit. I was thinking it as more of a life lesson song. Like sometimes things are hard but they'll get better, or vise versa,
I guess it makes more sense what you are saying.

I think it’s a secular Israeli song. So it’s something like amother copper said

I was really surprised to find out it's a secular Israeli song.
But I still believe that it's a father telling his son to hang on. To his beliefs, to his objectives and to his traditions.

Also. משהוא הולך תמיד איתי.
And כמה טוב שנפגשנו are Israeli secular songs. I think both of them Avraham fried is singing but their original singers are Israeli

I absolutely love this song.. I think it's so powerful.
And this is how I've always interpreted it, as in stay strong.. weathers are not always fine and dandy, but just hold on tight and persevere.

But I can see how it can also be interpreted religiously.

And now I'm singing it in my head
"tachzik chazak aleh katan sheli..
ki lo tamid hakol bachutz bahir
vruach sar vsafa (?) kara
tizkor vtizchazek ani itcha
ani itcha.."

Music Music

Oh I absolutely love, love, love it!

She was the original singer of מישהו הולך תמיד איתי, but עלה קטן is Yishai Lapidot's.
