Having a disagreement about how American yeshivish families pronounce this name!

Gur-shun? Or Gair-shown?

Thank you!

I know a guy by that name, and he kind of runs it all together, like GURshn. Short U sound, soft emphasis on the first syllable.

American yeshivish-ish, I've only ever heard it pronounced Gair-shown.

Accent on the first syllable? It sounds like someone is trying to sound French and fancy. Like calling Detroit "Daytoi" and Target "Tarzhay". LOL

Ger-Shawn could be an African American name. Gershawn Jackson, basketball star!

Since there's not written nekudot in Hebrew, Grshn makes the most sense.

I am American yeshivish. People I know say Ger-shin.
I don't understand people writing Gair-Shown. Is gair meant to be pronounced like Gear?. I have never heard that in my life. I have heard Ger-Shown. But that's not as yeshivish.
