Or maybe watch the movie version first. (I recommend the 2005 version.) I am sure if I had read it first as a teenager I wouldn't have liked it, either. I'm glad I didn't read it until a good decade after I graduated high school!

There's a reason why Mr. Darcy still polls as the #1 literary crush for women readers, after all.

I much prefer the 1995 BBC miniseries.

Colin Firth is dreamy in it.

What’s a good Danielle Steele book I never read her.

I'm going to admit that I read her books.
Wow, that's brave of you to admit it. Anonymously. Just kidding, I probably wouldn't either put my name to some of the things I read.

Her contemporaries, if I recall correctly, are cleaner but they definitely tackle heavy topics.
What do you mean by heavy?

Frances Brody!! She wrote a whole series of books about a female character named Kate Shackleton, a woman who lost her husband and turns into a detective/sleuth. It’s set in the 1920’s, totally clean and very entertaining- I love her! I also learned quite a bit about England in the 1920’s from the books. Highly recommended!
