If you live in the Midwest or similar climate, when do you put the heat on?

When it gets below 68ish degrees indoors. I don’t make a decision based on outside temperature, but rather how cold it is inside.

Often we start he season only having the heat on in evening through when everyone leaves for school/work in the morning. It makes a big difference to getting kids out of bed if they’re not cold.

Once the temp outside hits the 40s, but honestly, I can still do without the heater at that point. Love me some cold weather! Boots! Sweaters! Cold air!

When we wake up and see the indoor temp is 64ish or below.
Though we've had mornings like that that turn into days that hit low 80s.

ETA: Above answer was for when we turn the heat on.
If you want to know what we put it at, we try for 67, though as it gets cold, it might inch up. Also, I told my children to put it on at least 68 before Shabbos if I forget.

If the temperature falls below 71 in the house then we put on the heat. In the fall that usually is once we reach the 40s outside the house cools down and then once bricks are cold even in the 50s we need the heat inside.

When it drops under 60 in my house I will turn it on and I don't put it up to high. I don't like the super warm dry heat feeling in my house you get used to it the bedrooms upstairs get warmer anyway and we have nice warm PJs and blankets.
