I used to have freezer tape by scotch.
Does masking tape work as well or does it peel off when the containers get cold.
I used to not label things and rely on my intuition. But that was a mistake.
Please share all ideas for labeling.

I just write directly on the container with a black Sharpie marker

You can use address labels and write on those and stick it on to the containers

Yup, sharpie. And before I wash the container, I rub the marker off. Masking tape falls off.

Another vote for sharpie. And I use clear containers which also helps.

I use masking tape all the time and never have it fall off.

Sharpies, or sometimes dry erase markers work.

Too many unlabeled things leads to not knowing EXACTLY what is in them and how old they are.
I want to be able to relabel containers.
I wouldn't think that sharpie would rub off so easily when washing for next time.

It does. It actually sometimes rubs off a bit in the freezer too but you can still read the words

After ending up with too many UFOs ( unidentified frozen objects) in my freezer I ordered frezeeer labels from amazon. No more wondering if it’s tomato dip or meat sauce
