Posting with permission from Yael.

This fundraiser is by and for a close friend of mine who has intense mental health needs. She has been suffering for a long time and tried many therapies/therapists with dismal results. She finally found a care team that works for her but paying them is a huge obstacle, especially since her condition limits her earning ability, and they are not covered by medicaid or any other source.

To help raise both funds (for her therapy debts) and awareness (for everyone), she has created a campaign selling T-shirts and tote bags with a custom-designed logo supporting suicide awareness. There have been many pledges already but the campaign will only proceed if a minimum is met, otherwise they will not print the design and all the contributions will be refunded. THE DEADLINE IS SUNDAY. PLEASE HELP!

If you want to contribute to the cause and have no interest in a bag or shirt, please consider buying one to give to someone else. Your participation will help make the campaign and existing contributions effective, and you can use this gift to show support to someone else in need or to raise awareness.

If you cannot contribute personally, please consider sharing the link with others who may be able to join.

I can personally assure you that my friend is far from a leach on society. Even while fighting her own unrelenting battles, she has contributed an invaluable amount to the community in terms of raising awareness and support and reducing the stigmas of mental illness. Between her and her family, she is (just) meeting her basic needs, but the cost of treatment by the *necessary* specialists is astounding. She has worked on many ways to bridge that gap and is only (at this time) fundraising to cover debt from past treatment.

Thank you for taking the time to read and share this message.

I tried to order a shirt for DD, but they don't ship to Israel. Crying

It's too bad, because I think she'd really like it.

Oy. Do you have someone in the US who could take it for her?

I also know her a bit (though only through fb) and I've learned a lot from her. I tried to order a while ago, but ran into the same problem as FF. Don't really know anyone in US who I could get it sent to. I was also disappointed because the design is gorgeous.

OK, so for you international shipping people - there is an option to have your order delivered to Mamela's home for free, and she will be sending a package to Israel because other people ordered from there, too. I guess it will remain to be seen how individual orders will get to their destinations once in Israel... so please continue to share Smile

Cnc and Aylat, thank you for adding your affirmation Smile

Another option - if you want to contribute but don't want the shirt/bag or have shipping/pickup issues, you can order it to be sent to Mamela (for free) and she will distribute them personally to people who would be inspired by them but can't afford to buy their own.

The good news is that we're closer to the goal.

The less-good news is that there are only 2 days left to get there, of which one is Shabbos.

Please share the link and story on your Facebook page and with anyone who might help!

OK, really down to the wire here - the campaign ends soon (I thought it was tonight, but it still says 1 day left? So maybe tomorrow? Or maybe they don't know the difference between "less than one but more than zero" and "one?") and only 2 more bags and 3 more shirts are needed. A lot went into creating this campaign and it would mean so much for it to be successful, and so disappointing if it isn't.

CAN WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN TOGETHER?

Imagine that you can make a difference to someone when you walk down the street or sit on the bus and they see that your bag says "CHOOSE TO KEEP GOING." Maybe it's just what they needed to hear or see.
