I've been really terrible with davening for a long time. I want to try to get back into it. I know davening is about connecting with Hashem and not just a list of requests, but my mind always wanders.

I'm looking for chizzuk and a deeper understanding of what davening is supposed to be, but not an explanation of each tefillah.
