From my experience, the top loaders wash better than any front loader I used. My mother had a speed queen and loves it. It's quick and washes really well.

Thanx.
I heard the speed queen is really good but its too small.
Does the front loader have a bad smell or you need to clean often?

I bought a top loader. That was the only type to fit down the basement steps. Given that, I bought the Maytag commercial washer. It is Maytag's answer to the Speed Queen with the Maytag 5 year warranty. I like that it has the deep wash option so I really feel my clothes get clean. From what I read, there are many front loaders which have a much larger capacity. At this stage, I don't do a lot of laundry but I do like my laundry to come out clean.

Sorry, I see my post will not help you, but it might help others.

When I bought my machine I was told Speed queen is the best. But just then they were making it more digital and I was told to only get the old model - which I couldn’t find.

I ended up getting a whirlpool front loader and I’m thrilled. I do a lot of laundry. Best part is how huge it is coming from an old machine.

Features to look for:
Fan after washing-orherwise clothes smell musty in front loader
Soak-most of today’s newer machines do not allow you to soak clothes by just opening the door. It’ll drain the machine. Some have special timed soak feature.

I got a ton of advice from my appliance repair technician. He told me which macHines are cheaper to repair or have a longer wait time for parts.

He told me to get a warranty because they break and only have a life span of 10 years (the sales lady told me the same)

He also said if it’s pissible to save an old machine that’s the best compared to today’s newer energy and water saving models.
