I used to teach before I was married. I loved that and I was a good teacher. After I got married I worked with my husband in a clothing store for ten years. Then I became a Stay-at-Home Mom for the next 20 years.
My kids are grown up now and I feel I need to have a job....
But I am nervous to a) commit and b) be accepted to start work in my fifties...
What can I do? How would I know what I can be good at?
Are there any frum services that help you figure out an occupation at my age?

What do you see yourself doing? What do you really like to do?

OP, same story here. I taught for a few years; stayed home with my kids and went back after more than 20 yrs. I enjoy it a lot and know others who have done the same. Take the plunge! YOu wont regret it.

I love to teach small children- like 5 to 8 years old.
I taught first grade in my home town and when I go back I often meet those girls and they remember me!
I was also thinking of selling specialty baked goods. I wouldn’t know how to start...

That’s adventurous! It would be wonderful, though....

Perhaps... eventually you can pursue one while working? There are so many options for part time schooling today!
Returning adult students are very common today... good luck whatever you do!
