The cupboard where I keep my pots smells so bad. I rewashed each pot and washed out the cupboard but the smell is still there.

Unfortunately, a lot of smelly household things are behind the walls or otherwise hard to see. Do you have mice? Is there a pipe behind the wall which may be leaking? Mold? If the cabinet is under the stove - do you have a gas leak? Was anything with an odor (pet food, vitamins, tobacco) kept in there previously? Is there any rotton wood?

We had a builder checking behind the cupboard.

Are you able to empty it out fully and get in there close enough to see if it's the wooden cabinets themselves that smell?

Yes I did that. It's definitely not the cabinets.
