Hi!
I would appreciate suggestions. I live in Israel and want a Hebrew girl name with a religious meaning, but can be modern and doesn't have to be tanachi. I like Moriah and Tehila, but they are a little too common for me. Ideally, I'd pick a name that is heard of, but uncommon, and doesn't seem bizarre or outdated.
I like Oriyah (means "Gd is my light"). Can you help me think of similar names?
Thanks 馃榾

Dd is Chedva.
There are 10 words for simcha brought down in the Avos d'rabi Nossan. Most would make beautiful names.
If I remember right,
Gila
Rina
Ditza
Chedva
Simcha
Aliza
Alissa
Alima
I forget the others.

I forgot Odelya, Odeya, Ashira and Reut.
Names I've heard but are a little unusual: Yirah, Yirat, Pdut, Nitzchiyah, Matat, Mas'et

Is 砖讬讘转 爪讬讜谉 ever used together as a name, or only 砖讬讘转? Together it's 4 syllables, so not really that long, same Avigayil and Elisheva. Israelis -- would that seem weird to most dati leumi people if a girl is named Shivat-Tzion?

I like Odelya but happened to read once on Facebook where this Israeli guy was listing "grandma names" and Odelya was on his list. Can Israelis give me input on whether this name is outdated?

Sorry if I'm dense: "yes" that it is sometimes used together or "yes" that it would be weird?

I would say not the most trendy name but not particularly dated either. I currently know a 23 year old and a 5 year old with the name. Not a grandma name at all in my book.

I know a girl named 砖讬讘转 爪讬讜谉 (return to Zion) and a girl named 转讗讬专 爪讬讜谉 (Illuminate Zion) actually they're young girls and I know their mommies. Definitely less used but totally accepted names in the daati leumi Israeli society.

Please, no one use these two. Not even if you live in an entirely Hebrew-speaking world because the words that those sound close to mean the same things in Hebrew as they do in English.

DD had a classmate named Shacharit in elementary school.
I loved that too.
