My husband had hernia surgery over a year and a half ago. Is it considered a preexisting condition when switching insurance companies?

Since the ACA laws went into affect, denying someone coverage because they have a pre existing condition is now illegal. Unless you're applying to a Healthshare I don't believe you should be worrying about this. You can double check with the insurer though to make sure.
