Im looking for ideas on how to keep my 2.5 year old entertained
I have so many toys/puzzles/games/books/crafts .. yet he plays with each one for for 5 minutes..
So if you have a child this age , which toy is their most played with toy?
Thanks.

Magnatiles hands down best investment. Get at least a 100 piece set.

Whatever I'm trying to use
Whatever older siblings are playing with
Magnatiles

You'll get more mileage from your toys if you put half away and offer just a few choices. Every so often, you can rotate the toys.

Magnatiles is great!
We also color with crayons very often!
Also little 'mentchies' - little people/animals.a bunch of those.

My 2.5 yr old like to help me in the kitchen more than she likes playing with toys. She loves to peel! And put fruits n veggies away in the right place. If I'm in the kitchen- her chair is at the counter next to me. (Looking fwd to when she's older:) Smile )

I'm trying to think of other ideas... But honestly- it's the mommy time they want. I find that if I'm on the floor with my kid- she'll play with whatever it is. As long as she's got my attention. And no older siblings bothering her Wink

Sometimes 2 year olds jump from toy to toy, which I think is pretty normal for that age. Especially if they're playing by themselves. Magnatiles and duplos are definitely good ones.

Since he's a boy, have you tried a car mat? My 3 year old son loves to drive all his cars around. And park them. And drive them some more.

And when Im playing with him he will def. Play anything for longer.

And I forgot play dough, that he plays with every day.

nope. no magic toy. Even the best toys only hold their interest so long.
no one mentioned Matchbox cars. Some kids can be busy with them for hours. Even better if you pair it with a garage/ramp.
Another idea is a magnet doodle. He can play near you.

Following this thread, but keeping in mind older boys too.

Was considering playstix. Any of you have this? Thoughts?

My older kids play with playstix. They enjoy it. Though its the type of toy that you need a lot of for multiple kids to be playing with it at the same time. Or is it only my kids that fight over not having enough pieces..)

They play mainly with the squares. I got an extra box of squares and it was a great investment.

Right now my 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter is spending a lot of time doing pretend play. Like making Shabbos dinner in our Kidcraft kitchen and then hosting the seuda.

My 2.5 year old loves magnatiles, duplo,
He also plays a lot with his pots and dishes set. He loves playing with clay, but it makes a big mess.
I’m thinking to get him the mitzvah kinder or maybe a tool set where he could drill pegs in for Chanukah.

It also depends a lot on your child. Some kids can play with toys for hours and others don’t have the patience..
