I looove used book stores. There are quite a few in jerusalem. The books are so cheap.

I buy used books on Amazon — classic kids' books, out of print books, and some books I expect not to read more than once.

I completely forgot about the library. I bought my ds a used book (from 1999 Smile

) and my dh started saying that someone probably brought it into the bathroom and stuff. I think he was trying to annoy him because I doubt it bothers either of them. I happen to have 3 used books and even older. I rubbed it on my husbands face Twisted Evil

I’ve never thought about it. I bring books with me into the bathroom and so do my husband and kids, I don’t get the issue. It’s not like we pee or poop on the books, and we wash our hands before picking them up again once we are done. Am I missing something?

I've bought literally hundreds of used books (series for my kids) and to be honest the thought never crossed my mind! My kids take them into the bathroom, they're all over the floor in the house, ugh now that I'm thinking about it...

I often buy used books and use the library also. I often wipe down the plastic covers myself but as someone here said, your phone has much more bacteria on it than your average toilet seat for example ( apparently the bath tub is the most contaminated place in the house bedsides the kitchen sink- yes I once watched a whole documentary about it!) and if you handle money...I don’t even want to think about it.
And don’t forget that many many “new” items you buy in shops are worn already and were returned - the list goes on. It’s an interesting subject actually- here is a whole article about it:
