I am yeshivish and would not have ordinarily asked a yoetzet halacha halachic questions. However, when I check up information on the Nishmat Yoatzot site (yoatzot.org), I find the information to be very up-to-date and halachically accurate based on what I've learned. It has been helpful in understanding where my Rav is coming from when he gives me certain answers. I've also been able to ask my shailos more knowledgeably.
Anyway, I've been having a lot of issues with the Mirena, so I figured, let me call a yoetzet and see if she has any advice. I told her what my Rav said. She was extremely knowledgeable and able to point out all the subtleties in the halachic questions. I told her about my anxieties with staining, and she was able to help me from a halachic and hashkafic perspective.
I just wanted to post this for women who are uncomfortable talking to their Rav about intimate matters. The yoatzot are really helpful. They can give you a lot of guidance, even if you're not asking them "shailos." It's definitely worthwhile.

I wish there had been such a thing when I was first married. It would have saved me a lot of grief.
