A few times a year I do a deep polish with goddards silver polish foam. Every erev shabbos I (read dh) use a silver polishing glove to give it a shine.

Put a piece of tinfoil shiny side down ( dull side showing) in a non metal bowl. Put in silver and then pour in baking soda and boiling water at the same time.
Works like a charm |
we used to do this growing up but then we heard its bad for the silver so maybe look into it before u do it....

I used the wipes, the one you make wet, and it was a mess and I couldn't get the polish out of the crevices. I never used the wipes again. similar with goddard cream polish.
lacquer is so worth it for candlesticks or candelabra. they say lacquer wears off with touching and these don't get touched much so the lacquer should last a long time.
the best method I found is the polishing gloves. gives you a great shine, so easy. least mess and lasts nicely.

If youre in Brooklyn I can recommend someone. |
How is the best way to keep the lacquer clean form just general dirt without ruining it?
