My 13-month-old has always had issues with opening his bowels, sometimes really runny sometimes rock hard balls and I can have both types in one day.(and he can have weeks of everything being perfect) Last week he struggled so much with getting some of it out that he was bleeding slightly (and screaming in pain) some of his poop also had little bits of blood.
Since then it has been really soft like a puree and yellow like mustard color. I asked his dr today and he said he will grow out of it. I asked about intolerances and he said if I want I can try eliminating something and seeing if it helps but I would like to know if it is necessary.
Any advice?

Nursing babies will often have yellow if they are not eating solids.
Formula fed babies more greenish.
You should definitely speak to your doctor if your child is uncomfortable.

My child is 13 months and not nursing anymore. I asked the doctor but he just said it will all pass as he grows.

My kids always have mustard yellow poop when they're teething.
