We have an activity for the kids, the men are never interested in playing, but we need something for the women to play at our chanukah party, any ideas??? (Sometimes the men might cooperate, if it sounds exciting) TIA

I've made a few Babble games hat are always fun. You basically make a list of phrases or words that are about Chanuka for instance

Antiochus
Judah the Maccabee (obviously use Hebrew if it fits the crowd)
Menorah
Bais HaMikdash

and whatever else you can think of. Then turn each word/phrase into other words that sound similar.

Bais HaMikdash= Bay So Haim Icky day sh!
Judah the Maccabee= Jew tithe Ima cab be

etc. Write the Babbled words on paper or posterboard large enough for everyone to see. Hold up one at a time and they have to figure out what Chanuka-related word/phrase the paper says. (FYI say them out loud and listen to what it sounds like. Easier to figure out that way.)

If you can ask everyone to bring a small gift (w/ a set limit say $5 or $10) you can play a gift exchange - everyone brings theirs wrapped, puts it in the middle and pulls numbers out of a hat. #1 gets to choose the first present. #2 goes and can either choose #1's present or something new from the middle. Game keeps going until everyone has a present but each supsequent person can swap. I don't know what kind of party you're having but if you can ask people to bring something its a really fun (and funny) game. The better the presents the "more" fun it is because there is more swapping and it gets funny.

Everyone gets a pen and paper.
Each person has to write down something about themselves that most ppl don't know.
Then all the papers are folded and put into a bowl. They are read out loud. And people have to figure out which story is connected to which person.
Lots and fun and laughter.

We once played the following, and had a blast:
Every person/couple has to write on a piece of paper something they would do for someone else. (Buy s/t, make s/t, babysit the kids etc.
The we passed around 14 sandwich bags filled with different white powders (flour, sugar, salt, detergent, formula, baking soda etc.) Everyone had to guess what was in each bag (they were numbered). At the end we scored points, based on how many right answers we had (decide how many points each answer is worth.) Then we called out one "favor" at a time, and everyone could bid for each one.

Another idea is you make up a list of ridiculous situations, (for example you show up to work with one brown shoe and one blue, or you get onto the bus and then realize you're still carrying the garbage etc.) Then you divide the group into two. You call up one person from each team, and give a scenario. Then you ask "What would you say?" and roll a boggle cube. They have to give an answer starting with the letter you rolled, the first one to answer gains a point for his/her team.

I like this one.

Can anyone add other similarly fun games that work for young and old.

We once did male/female game. Each member had to bring two items which serve same purpose for male & female. One gets wrapped one open. You sep in two sep bags. Pull out the open one & you have to guess what the other version would be. The one who guesses gets both gifts. Example: hanger or chair both used to hang up coat. WOMEN will put into closet men on chair. TABLE & mousetrap. WOMEN will be on the table when they see a mouse. Men will put out a mousetrap......cigarette lighter/match. Tylenol/doctor.
