I will have a several-hour stopover in Canada en route to Israel from the U.S. next week and want to be able to have contact with my family during that time. I use a prepaid service on a slider phone (so no sim card) which has no service in Canada. Any suggestions for a prepaid phone or prepaid phone card that I can use while in Canada to call or text the U.S.? TIA!

How much are you willing to spend? It’s not cheap.
You’d probably pay around 20-30$ for those few hours.
Check out a google search for canadian cell phone prepaid plans.

Is your phone wifi enabled? You should be able to get free wifi at the international airport. from that you can use various apps to message and call.
