Anybody know of a site similar to thredup for selling gently used and some new (with tags) clothing?
It is too tedious for me to list all of them on ebay.com, and I was not so happy with thredup. I like the idea of thredup (that you order a bag for free, fill it and just ship it back) but I feel like they gyped me with my last couple of shipments.

Any ideas?

I second poshmark.
I sell there.
It's easy to list and there's decent traffic. They do take 20% off though.

Thanks for posting this. I was wondering the same thing this past week. I've purchased things on thredup before but I looked up reviews on selling with them and people say exactly what you're saying.

I sell on tradesy. It's not as easy as sending them a bag and collecting the money, but they do offer some conveniences. After your sale is made, they send you shipping materials. Including a postage paid label. Also, as long as you have described your item honestly, they take back all returns and you still keep the $ you were paid. The items that sell well here are either higher end name brands or absolutely brand new items with tags. In other words, your worn out Target skirt won't sell but your new one probably will, and so will your designer anything. Periodically, if your item isn't selling they will email and suggest that you lower the price, or participate in one of their sales.

The procedure is that you photograph the item and post on the website with a description and price. If tradesy thinks you have over (or very occasionally) under charged, they let you know, but it's still your choice. They also tweak your main photo to make it look better. When the item sells you receive an email telling you and asking whether you prefer to wait for their shipping materials or to send it sooner using your own. You are paid when the item is received. They take a % (there's a formula, I've forgotten it but it's on the website) but they take less if you take it as credit. I have also bought a few things from them.

I briefly tried Poshmark and found it not as user friendly in any way, for either buyers or sellers.

There is so much clothing flooding the market and clothing is relatively cheap that it really doesn't pay to sell clothing unless you have something special. Children's clothing in lots (if in very good condition) and plus size clothing are more valuable than standard woman's clothing from relatively low end brands.

It's very tedious to sell clothing by the piece because you have to spend time photography well and go through the hassle of packing and shipping - if it sells at all. Download the Poshmark App and do a search for what you are selling and see if you want to go through that kind of effort for what an item will realistically sell - if at all.

Its very tedious to sell each item individually, that's why I was looking for a place similar to thredup, in that you can just send them a package and they do the listing for you. Ideas, anyone? Or does it not exist?

Why not just use Thredup if you want that kind of experience? Or go to a thrift shop.

If you want someone to do all the work for you like thredup, then the reality is that you have to pay for it as they are going to take a higher commission in order for their business to be profitable. Think of the work they have to pay someone to do which Is exactly what you don't want to do.

Depending on style, there are used clothing stores that buy items if you bring them in. The amount they pay would probably be higher than thredup but they will reject a lot of stuff which they don't think will sell.

I wish. I sold something for a quarter or fifth of what I paid and I consider myself lucky. I rarely make a sale on Ebay.
