I noticed that because of all of the recent sponsored threads that are pinned to the top of the recent threads area, I stopped noticing the top most recent thread. My brain assumes that it's an advertisement. Today there was no thread pinned there and I found it visually confusing.
Does that happen to you too?

You mean sponsored posts pinned to the top? I've only ever noticed one at a time, but since it looks different I don't confuse regular threads with the sponsored ones.

I usually click straight through to "Posts Since Last Visit" without noticing anything on the home page. If it takes a while to load or I get interrupted before doing that I might notice something by accident. But I'm probably not even a potential customer for anything advertised here.
