For starters, it has an awful lot of bad language. (I can’t believe everyone really talked like that in the 50s.) The family is also super assimilated. And I don’t find any of the characters at all likeable. They are mostly selfish - doing whatever works for them, whether or not it comes at anyone else’s expense . . . |
The second season is amazing so far, once they get to the Catskills. I agree though they could’ve cut down on the f-bombs.

I consistently laughed out loud at Parks & Rec.
The kids are alright is also funny , especially if you were born in the 70s.
The Good Place is hysterical.

If we are talking clean shows - speechless is great. It's funny and heart warming.
I watch Friends over and over and it makes laugh (but it's not "clean"), I love Fraiser also but I know a lot of people who don't get the humor. The Big Bang Theory is pretty vulgar in my opinion and the last few seasons didn't seem to be going anywhere.
I started watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, didn't enjoy the first episode but it gets better, I don't mind the bad language. A lot of the Jewish points and are not exactly accurate or believable - neither is the plot line, and the characters are all selfish (but the same goes for Seinfeld and a lot of other good comedies) I think that is what makes them funny. I haven't finished with the first season yet, so happy to hear it's worth sticking it out to get to the second season. Honesty, I enjoy the set design and costumes more than the plot line.

On YouTube, dude perfect stereotypes. Many of the others are pretty funny too. Perfectly clean, rarely a woman and rare violence.
Enjoyable even if you don’t like sports.

I cant believe no one mentioned Lethal Weapon. It is Laugh out Loud but also an action and suspense show, but the characters are really funny.
I dont remember laughing so much in any other show - and I've seen the marvelous mrs maisel and liked it too.

I loved the d!ck van Dyke show - I went through it a few years ago. And I found Frasier funny too.

another vote for Gilmore Girls. Chuck made me laugh too, but it's not a comedy.
not a show but Tripp and Tyler on YouTube have some really comical clips.

In season 2 there's a brief swimsuit competition in the catskills but the girls are wearing 1 peice suits not bikinis. It's generally pretty modest because this is set in the 1950's. Even the PDA is pretty mild. |
I watch it for the clothes!

It’s not for everyone- people who are more drawn to plot development than character development won’t like it, but for people like me, who care more about character development- it’s the best show we’ll ever watch. |
I love The Office - the British version. Soooo funny!

This, so much.
I had a really rough relationship with my mom, but one thing we could really bond over was Carol Burnett. We would laugh so hard that our sides hurt and we couldn't breathe, and maybe even pee our pants a little bit.
The Eunice and Mama bits would remind us that there are people out there with more dysfunctional families than ours, and we could laugh about it.
More contemporary, "Made in Canada", if you can get CBC, is so funny, and the writing is very intelligent. It's not slapstick, it's sophisticated.
From Disney, DD got me into "Hannah Montana" and "Kickin' It".
