I used plain (yellow box) Cheerios once or twice, and it turned out okay.

The pieces are smaller and denser than Chex or Crispix, but Cheerios have a neutral enough flavor that the chocolate-peanut butter-powdered sugar coating was enough.

I'm pretty sure that I've also tried it with Crispix and it came out good

I can't find it listed on General Mills cereals, maybe it was a trial run and didn't take off? But there's a chocolate cereal like Cinnamon Toast Crunch that was great for Muddy Buddies.

Cornflakes sounds very doable to me. I would even try Cheerios. My kids love the peanut butter / chocolate combination, it doesn't matter what comes along with it. It's very sweet, any added flavor gets drowned out or is very subtle.

I only like Muddy Buddies with Rice Chex, not Corn Chex, so I wouldn't appreciate it on cornflakes or Crispix. I would try Rice Krispies though -- we know those go well with chocolate and peanut butter Wink

but would it be hard to eat the rice crispies, because they are smaller than chex?

I'm thinking they would clump together somewhat, like RK balls.

Bumping his up because I’m looking to get rid of a ton of rice crispies & cornflakes before pesach. Is the consensus that muddy buddies with cornflakes is good?
Any other ideas?
We already made 1 batch of peanut chews yesterday. I don’t have marshmallow fluff in the house.

(Never mind we have another 3 boxes of rice crispies that are thankfully gluten free)

Binah had a recipe a few weeks ago for cornflake clusters with maple syrup and peanut butter and it was very good. Not sure I have it though...

Both cornflakes and rice crispies can be used to coat schnitzel as well.
