Please don't give flutes and bamba for a 7 month old! Start with diluted baby cereal and jars.

I’m already doing that but I imagine he needs more substance than that and the little formula he takes.

Flutes and bamba for seven month old?! Oy!

Why oy? All my kids had it and they lived to tell the tale. It’s great for oral motor skills.

bamba has peanuts in it and shouldn't be given to a very young child. Flutes are empty carbs and oil.

I'm trying to remember the first foods my nephew ate last year at that age. I'm remembering bits of banana, avocado, fresh applesauce, carrots and sweet potato from the chicken soup...a little bit every day.

I’m talking about finger foods. If there are no allergies in the family then it’s fairly safe to give at 7 months. They love sucking on it. Flutes is also good to suck on.

The Gerber baby puffs are better. But wait a bit age wise.

Exactly this!
Your baby will get a lot more nutrition by eating those foods than eating Bamba and flutes.
Best of luck!

Or straight up real foods. Baby led weaning. This might be the sensory input baby is missing

They're fine for developing skills, but not in any way a substitute for real food.

Yes op, most of your child's calories should be coming from formula at this age. Giving him the standard solids at this age don't replace that in any significant way- he will definitely need more, and will probably continue waking for it.

Off topic but it was mentioned not to give bamba because of a risk of peanut allergy. New evidence shows giving peanuts at a early age actually decreases the risk of a peanut allergy. I was told by my baby's allergist to introduce peanut butter at six months. You have to water it down as it's a chocking hazard. I give my 7 month old Apple sauce with peanut butter mixed in as well as baby cereals. Peanut butter is a great protein source.

Also you can give him the formula in the cereals. Some babies like spoon eating batter then bottles. And you could try giving formula in a sippy cup or regular cup at this age

I had great results with reflux with Dr. Breglio. At the time I used him, a few years ago, he had just switched from Mount sinai to miamonides. (Miamonides was bringing in a bunch of new great doctors then)
718.283.7500 or 718.283.7329
45 minutes for a bottle is definitely not ok for a 7 month old.
From the sound of it, it's all reflux, and he sounds like he needs a nice dose of prevacid. given on an empty stomache. And it can take a week or 2 until you see results. Also, if you add a bit of rice cereal to the formula and use a nipple with a bigger hole, that might also help the reflux.

Thank you. I will call tomorrow for an appointment. I’m inclined to believe that this might be the issue. Thank you to everyone that suggested it.

Reflux is often caused by tongue/lip ties, especially in cases where baby takes very long to breast/bottle feed. Dr. Scott Siegel is an expert in this area. He has offices in Manhattan and Long Island. 2122047923

I don’t think that’s the case because he was a great and quick nurser in the beginning.

On the contrary, my doctor says to introduce allergenic foods earlier based on the latest studies. (Israelis are less allergic to Bamba because they're introduced to it at an earlier age.)

My pediatrician once told me to bake a whole sweet Potatoe in the peel and then cut it open, and feed it directly from the peel to the baby as it has the most nutrients that way. I mashed it inside the peel. My baby's loved it too. It was their first food after a few meals of baby cereal.

Op, if it takes 45 minutes for a 7 month old to take a bottle, it means something is wrong. Maybe tounge tie or reflux or something else. Please take your baby to the pediatrician and specialists is necessary.

About Bamba. My pediatrician encourages giving Bamba at a very young age to prevent allergies. Unless there is family history of the allergy. In that case he says to first visit an allergist, and if given the all clear, then to introduce it.

My baby with reflux was very difficult to feed. Solids didn't go so well either (although yogurt was good)
Zantac wasn't enough so we switched to Prilosec

Also, different baby- we changed from similar pro sensitive to similac pro total comfort and we think it's much better for tummy trouble BH
