I usually buy a small platter of dried fruits that has at least something that we can make a shehechiyanu on. And then when I have time I love to have the shivas haminim as well too with barley as side dish for supper, etc, etc.
The kids also get various fruits at school.

We have a seder with fifteen fruits - five with inedible skins, five with inedible pits, and five fully edible. We include the shivat haminim.

We eat 15 fruits/nuts. It's not our minhag but I heard about it and thought it was nice.
It's my kids' favorite yom tov - we sit around the table and taste all 15 fruits and they love it.

We do whatever fresh & dried fruits and nuts I find along with a chocolate dip (made with yogurt & melted milk chocolate). I add some pretzel sticks and/or bread and we call it supper. My kids look forward to it all year.
