If you have a baby aged 3-6 months and the baby sleeps in a cot, which position is the base of the cot - at the lowest position or the middle position? Do you find it difficult on your back putting baby in a cot?
I am asking this because I would like to know how many mums find bending over a cot to put baby in bed a strain on the back. Also when trying to settle baby in the cot for the night, how long on average does it take you under half an hour or more .
I am asking the above to find ways to alleviate back strain in mums with young babies.
Many thanks in advance.

If it causes you terrible back pain I would consider sleep training early

I keep the crib at middle until they can sit up. Once it's all the way to the bottom, you can lower the rail to put the baby in and then raise it again, to reduce bending. Once the baby is in, I maintain during the going to sleep process by sitting in a chair next to the crib and putting my hand through the slats. It's a little awkward, but it helps my back.

I don’t understand the question

Put the baby in and walk away. What’s the ‘settling’ you’re referring to?

We have a bedtime routine and then takes the baby around 5-20 minutes to settle usually. She still fits in the cosleeper next to our bed. Not sure how we will manage once she outgrows that
