Obviously you never went through it. I feel
Op because I went through what she did. I had people stare at my belly and you can tell what they were thinking. I had people ask me in middle of a conversation how old my baby is.

Thank you octopus, flower power, and amother pewter. It wasn't one thing that happened, it's several. Some people just look me up and down, like literally their head is like a bobblehead. And others say straight out "dont you know your mother is waiting for another grandkid?"

My friend gave me great advice as to how to handle this.

STARE RIGHT BACK AT THAT PERSON'S STOMACH.

It works.

I had someone come over to me (at a shiva house, no less,) look at my stomach, and say, "I didn't know you were expecting!"
"Uh, I'm not."

Two funny stories. I was once holding my 3 week old baby in a store line when someone asked me when I was expecting.

Then, I ran into my grade1 teacher at the grocery store. My baby was ten and with me. She just kept looking at me and saying ‘look at you’ over and over again. It took me forever to understand what she was saying until she reached out, touched my belly and meaningfully looked me in the eye to say ‘look at you’ before I realized that she was mistaking my metabolic syndromed/insulin resistant belly for a pregnancy. I can’t remember what I said in response.

Yesterday a guy on the phone at work thought I was a guy. I didn’t bother correcting him.

For those of you who have had issues with people actually saying something to you--I can't believe that people feel comfortable to do that. I have a personal policy that I never make any comment about someone else's pregnancy unless they have already told me/mentioned it in some context/referred to it themselves.

My mom always says , dont ask someone when they are due till u see the baby crowning 😂

"Keep going" is the way to go. Ignore them. I've been through it. I refuse to spend time on such thought. I have better people and more important stuff to keep busy with.
