Does anyone know what B&H policy is with regards to paid time off?

My husband is looking into working at B&H and they mentioned an hourly pay rate to him. I'm wondering if they will pay him for yomim tovim and other time off too or he only gets paid for the actual hours he will be working?

I'd also like to know if medical insurance policy they have is good.

Anyone here that works at B&H or husband works there that can answer my question? Thanks.

That's not true at all. Women definitely work there.

(Unless my lady workers you mean harlots because that's what it sounds like... Those they don't have.)

It's also not remotely relevant to OPs questions.

They offer insurance for the family( United Healthcare, private, not the community plan. They offer dental and vision) but it's not free. There is some sort of algorithm to figure out vacation hours. They pay for Yom tov if it comes out on a work day. I think you have to work for a few (3?) months before you receive benefits.

They definitely have women working there in just about all departments.

This.
They are closed for chol Hamoed and those days are not paid. But you can choose to use your PTO or Paid Time Off to full in for those hours.
Legal holidays they are open except Dec 25. Holiday pay is regular plus time and a half. So really it's double time and half. (Asaik. Might be new workers are different)

Insurance costs money but it's very subsidized by b&h.
Regular health, vision, dental. A few levels and choices to choose from. Accident insurance hospital indemnity plans.... disability insurance. These benefits are pretty good.(you shouldn't have to use it. Except for delivery of a healthy baby)

You get insurance after the 3 month trial period. How much you pay for insurance depends on how many ppl are insured. (Employee E+1 or family) And how much her makes per hour.

Re coverage.
Depending on the plan you choose. We have ppo. I don't know about hmo.
Dental if definitely recommend getting the more expansive one if you have kids and genetically bad teeth. The in network one had a very very small network and the few that were withing 40 min drive were awful dentists. Awful. We had issues with preferred providers too. It was a nightmare. We upgraded this year.
Vision is decent too. For my children, the opthamologist bills our regular insurance but vision insurance covers part of the frame and the lense.

For regular insurance, we chose ppo and are very happy. One of our kids needed a specialist and we got to see top top of the line Manhattan specialist from within the network. (Bh shes doing great now. Still under care but mosrly just being watched) We never would have been able to give her the care with cheaper insurance or child health plus.

Actual Yom Tov days are paid. Chol Hamoed is not, but you can use your vacation time so you still get your paycheck. Purim is one day you are forced fo use your PTO time for.
Insurance is good and they pay about 2/3rds of it, so even though you have to pay plenty it is a very generous package that I haven't seen elsewhere.
The only paid legal holidays are X-mas and New Years.
You get a good amount of vacation - I don't remember how much but probably the standard 2 weeks.

It could be OPs husband will start off hourly, not salaried, which means he wont get paid for YT.

My uncle works at B&H for years and years already and hes always working on Chol Hamoed. Maybe because he's the store manager?

He must be working in their program IT department. They are on standby on Chol hamoed in case of technical issues. The store and their phone sales offices, shipping warehouse, as well as their private label division, are absolutely closed.

I think they get 3 weeks PTO (paid time off) a year which you can only use after 3 months since that's considered a trial period. I don't think you get paid for yontif during that time. My dh is off Thanksgiving, x-mas and New Years, and all the yomim tovim including Purim, Erev Yom Kippur and Erev Pesach. Hourly employees do not get paid for chol hamoed, you can use PTO to get paid.
We have the mid range medical insurance, it's definitely the most commonly chosen plan. What you pay is based on your salary. It costs us around $5k a year. If your dh is entry level it will be less. I have not had a problem finding doctors, United Health Care is a pretty big network. There is a 20% coinsurance so it can add up if you have a lot of medical issues but we've still found it to be cheaper than paying the much higher premium for the higher level plan which has copays rather coinsurance.
Dental is very expensive for the good plan, I get that cheaper through my job. They also offer vision which wasn't worth it for us. Medical insurance will cover the exams and we get cheap glasses which we pay through the medical FSA pretax. I was paying more out of pocket for glasses when I went through insurance.

Even hourly workers get paid for yom tov. The pay is based on a typical day’s work.

The apparent rule is that they pay for any day one would be halachically forbidden to work (yom tov days), but do not pay for days where one would be permitted to work (Chol hamoed, erev Yom Kippur, Purim, etc.). Regardless, as others have said, one can choose to apply their PTO to those days the business is closed and holiday pay is not offered.

Probably in IT? As they are on standby.... Defiantly not store manager. Do you mean sales manager? Or store director? (Last name start with a D?) The store manager is a relative of mine ad asaik, he does not work on chol hamoed.

Workday hours and days off really depends on where you work. Warehouse vs store vs offices.
