My child had pandas, with many other symptoms so we know it’s pandas. Things have been under control, besides for anxiety which we are dealing with... school calls me now that this child can not function in a classroom, always doing something other than notes or listening .... telling us basically this child needs a special ed school or a private teacher because she can’t be in ththe classroom she disturbs the other kids and teacher . Any insight on anyone dealing with this? We know there might be some ADD but honestly not severe. So what’s with the child in the classroom.

No.
But it can exasperate any existing conditions, so if you're saying this child has a touch of ADD, it makes sense that during a flair that will show up much more.
Even though you're dealing with the PANDAS medically, you should still get the child evaluated and obtain whatever services are needed for them at the same time. Don't let her suffer needlessly.

Unfortunately, adhd is part of the classic pandas presentation. See here for list of symptoms, this is from the national institute of health, so pretty reliable I would say
https://www.nimh.nih.gov/healt.....shtml
How are you treating so far? Are you under the care of a specialist? If your child is on antibiotics, the hyperactivity can be exacerbated by yeast overgrowth. Even if yeast is not the culprit here, there are many treatments you can try that can help address these particular symptoms. How is the adhd presenting? Is it impulsivity? Fidgeting? Hyperkinesia? Oppositional behavior?

Pandas causes inflammation in the brain, which can result in a variety of behavioral issues. Would you consider getting a shadow to help her stay in her class until things resolve?

anxiety often presents similarly to adhd, so it could be some of that.

Was ur child a good behaved kid before the pandas? I think pandas is sometimes misdiagnosed and sometimes there's nothing to do about it. My son was diagnosed with pandas but meds didn't help his behaviors as he had adhd before the diagnosis.
if child was well behaved before pandas diagnosis then as above poster said I'd recommend Para to assist until u get things under Control. If child always had behavior difficulties etc then it may not be the pandas that's causing it

SO this child might have had a touch of ADD before the pandas, but not like this. She presents in her own world in school. Needing to be busy with stuff throughout the class session. Drawing, playing with Knick knacks, glitter, putty... and no matter how she is explained how I’m appropriate it is or even if the teacher takes it away it kicks her out, she just will not conform to the class. She’s distracting and seems immature than the rest of the class. She’s older, not in elementary anymore which is more troubling. Anxiety is controlled by meds and all other pandas symptoms are controlled. Just at a loss trying to figure out why she behaves this way: she can’t give explanation for it. She’s not a milicious kid and doesn’t want to hurt or be mean to anyone. She also has a hard time confirming. Like if told play practice is till 8, if she’s feels at 7 she’s done, she’ll decide to leave and convince a friend to join. Not even thinking it’s a problem. She’s planning to change a dance move at the production so it would be funny, not realizing it’s so immature and not right to the heads of the dance... it’s just that I can’t pin point what is going on with her, we did testing and all and meds and dr Schulman, but I don’t know where this is stemming from. If the school kicks her out she’s gonna be shattered, but yet she can’t get herself to conform

A PANDAS brain is a brain on fire. All executive functioning is impaired, including focus, attention, planning, time management, etc. It also causes developmental regression. It seems like there is still a lot of PANDAS symptomology present. Please speak to her doctor to make her aware of the continued deficits. Your daughter needs a lot of support at this time, and should have classroom expectations modified for her.

Did anyone do the Cunningham panel and it helped in some way by giving answers? Or is it a waist of money
