Hi.
My son will iyh be putting on his teffilin by the kosel. We live in NY. I would like to invite whoever comes (abt 30-40 ppl) to a brunch afterwards. I spoke to the simcha hall by the kosel. It’s a gorgeous room overlooking the kosel, but extremely expensive.
Is there any other place with a good hechsher that is near the kosel/old city?

Thank you!

Not necessarily. Mamilla is very walkable from the Kosel if you're happy with steps and uphill slopes - and walking back through the Old City is lovely! Once you get to Jaffa Gate you're almost there...

Not at all. You walk out of the old city, through the jewish quarter, through to mamilla, maybe 15 minute walk.

Between The Arches is the closest restaurant to the kotel. 053-9419157

I’ve been to lovely bar mitzvah brunches there.
Quarter Cafe is in the old city itself.

Mamila has many places to choose from - Luciana, Cafe Greg, Rimon

It's a beautiful walk to Mamila. Keep in mind:
Elderly people may find the steps and uphill streets a bit hard; and if you do it in hot weather, it might get uncomfortable.
But it is a lovely, beautiful, scenic walk for those who can do it.

Heimishe Bagels does a really nice job and they will cater events in the Old City.
The events I went to were in a yeshiva, but maybe they can tell you which halls they work with in the Old City.
There are a few halls that are not overlooking the kosel and probably cheaper.

Their number is: 02-650-2456
