I have two sets from elegant linens and try to wash weekly. I find that even though they were expensive they don’t last as long as my kids linen who I bough in closeout connection because I don’t wash as often.

I wash our linen every Sunday. Some are ichy after a year , some stay nice for 7 years. Same price range... Maybe it's the colors I don't know. I buy whenever I see a nice one that I want for us or the kids. We have way too many lol

So why do my sheets get ripped up after 3-4 years. I replace the sheets and keep the quilts. Very expensive linen - super soft cotton. And after 13 years the material on the quilts and pillowcase is shredded. I don’t think I’m incredibly hard on it. This is true for 2 sets that switch off.

Maybe it's your washing machine? Something sounds off... How do you wash it?

I agree with checking your washing machine. At one point we had a loose part inside that was snagging and tearing things.

I've had my linen for 9 years and they still look perfect and vibrant. It is Bar III brand. My kids have cheaper ones from Amazon, and so far so good (oldest is only 7). I wash them about once a week.

If you have nice 100% cotton linen that has held up for 10+ years can you post the brand? The two high quality jewish sets that I bought 5 years ago are going (1 faded and shredded at the corners and the other just shredding a corners) and I'm looking into buying a new nice 100% cotton set that will last.

I don't really know if it's possible to know what will last.
I have 1 set that was pretty cheap (about $150) and it's 15 years old already, still looking great!
Another set that was more than double than that lasted me about 2 years.
It's a gamble.
