My motherboard gave up but according to place I gave it in to check, the hard drive should be ok.
How can I retrieve all my info from there?

You will need to remove the hard drive, put it into an external hard drive enclosure, and connect it to another computer.
If it is a laptop, it will be a 2.5 inch drive, most desktops use 3.5". External hard drives can be USB, Ethernet, etc.

It's not something you should try yourself if you don't know what you're doing. It's worth spending the money to have a professional do it properly and make sure your valuable and irreplaceable data doesn't get lost.
