The Gerber ones are not sturdy enough. I bought mine at the local dry goods store. They carry a better quality brand for about $18 for a set of 6 or something like that. I use them for rags. I also use cotton washcloths as rags (4 for $1.50) and I also cut retired men's undershirts (1 square from front and 1 square from back). I use a collection of all 3 for cleaning.

Undershirts are my favorite rags, but I dont have enough undershirts ready for retirement.
I dont even cut the undershirts into 2, I just cut them at the shoulder to make it obvious that it has become a "Shmatta", and I like them double thickness. The best.
Second best are the diapers. New mens undershirts are the same price as the better diapers, so Im thinking it may not pay to buy the diapers for the same money as undershirts ($2-$3 a piece).

You can get size XXL Hanes cotton undershirts for $5 (pack of 3) at Quick Aid. Or buy the size you need, use the new ones, and retire the old ones.

I use these for cleaning and really like it. It was $11 for 24 of them when I bought this pack 2 months ago. The price went up a few bucks, but there are most probably other, cheaper sellers... It's still significantly cheaper than diapers and undershirts.
BTW, I happen to hate keeping old undershirts for cleaning and just disposed of a few from dh. I like when all my rags are the same size so they can be folded evenly in my linen closet...

I recently bought these and got them for even cheaper than the price shown (with coupon code). They came to less than $2 a piece I think.

Somehow I prefer the texture of the undershirts.
