Do card games like UNO count as board games? My kids knew enough of numbers and colors to play by age 4.

My kids also love charades, or even just guessing songs that another person hums a few bars of.

How much running is okay? A thousand variations on tag (freeze tag, melting candle tag, elbow tag) or hide and seek (sardines, ghost in the graveyard)

We can play hide and seek for a nice while, my kids never get bored.
Or we play a "pattern" game. One kids leaves the room and we decide on something that we're all going to do when asked questions. Ex: we're gonna blink before we answer, scratch our hand, pause.... the kid comes back in and starts asking questions & they have to figure out what everyone is doing.

Headbands. There's a picture kind that requires no reading. The kids can move around while they play.

We love games so you may get more than you bargained for with our response and I'll try to mention the less common ones you may not know about rather than uno, skippity, rummy etc. which you are probably familiar with.

Balancing Games
Animal Upon Animal from Haba
Suspend or Suspend Junior
Leaps and Ledges

Card Games
Swish
Word-a-Round
Distraction
Pic Wits (but make sure you are okay with the pictures, etc.)

Non Traditional Games Plays with a Board
Collective games like catan, hi ho cherrio, pandemic, etc.
Blokus
You can buy a few of the single player games and see who finishes first (I.e. rush hours or the smaller ones that come in tiny bag)

Misc.
Qbitz (Qbitz Xtreme) and there are expansion packs and a jr. version
Qwirkle (or Qwirkle cubes)
Charades/Charades Jr.
Math Dice

Baltimore has a game gemach. You can check out different games for 2 weeks at a time. My grandchildren make good use of it. Perhaps your community has one too. Link: https://gamegemach.weebly.com/

Like someone said, do card games count? We love Slamwhich.
Different variations of skits, like they each pick 3 props from a bag and have to make a skirt using them.
Spaghetti and meatballs (the reading game, so it would be for the older ones).
Depending on how many kids- classics like the ring game, Indian chief, whisper down the lane.

Youll probably laugh at this. But my brother and I were complaining of being bored one shabbos, and we were tired of playing our board games as well .my mom got really creative. She took a precut aluminum foil crumpled it up into a ball shape and we had to volley it - without letting it hit the floor. Kept us occupied. Just make sure you have open space.

"good Shabbos"
So this is a game better with a larger group, but you can still adapt it for a smaller group.

One kid is 'IT'. IT-kid leaves the room and gets blindfolded.
another kid in the room is chosen as the 'challenger'.
The It-Kid is brought back into the room and the challenger-kid then disguises his/her voice and says "Good Shabbos" ( or pick another phrase). The It-kid has to guess the name of the challenger-kid.
Challenger then becomes next It-kid ( if you so choose).

We did that with balloons. In fact it was called "playing balloon". Very popular past time.

Circle 3 around the house

Tap tap trio

Sardines

Compound words

These were all time favorites growing up, and my kids love them as well. I have three kids, so unless a friend is over, I always have to join in to keep up the pace/make it even teams.

Pick a theme & one person says alphabet quietly, when you tell her to stop, wherever she's at that's the letter you are working with..
Going in circle taking turns....you have to say a word with your theme starting the letter. Till you run out...if you can't come up your out. Let's say theme food...letter p...peanuts, popcorn, peaches, plums, pretzels.

Themes can be food, food companies, animals, first names, girls names, boys names, family names, countries, places,....

We also used to love quarter 2 growing up.
Bigshot ball.
Pancake. Or we played it with ring in hands. Circle game with heads down singing when tapped stop singing....one person stays singing herself.
Imitation skits & guess at end....its like broken telephone with actions...it gets changed from beg to end
