I was there recently and dr. Feldman told me he had just gotten a letter from United that in May they are drastically cutting payment and they will probably stop accepting it.

Blue Cross vs.Fidelis. Which insurance plan are you switching to and why? Or, anyone have experience with either plan and can recommend one over the other? Thanks!

What about healthfirst? They had top ratings on the ny.gov website. I switched my baby to that but now I’m not sure...

I've had both and both are good. Some pros and cons for me are based on services and formulas I needed for my kids were better from one or the other, but for regular doctors and specialists, they are both pretty good.

Call your children's pediatrician, dentist, eye doctor, audiologist and any specialists that they see regularly like ENT, gastroenterologist, endocrinologist and find which of the plans they take. Then choose the one that all your providers take.

Don't think Healthfirst was on the list of insurance plans options that Boro Park pediatric assoc provided with their letter abt uhc. So I guess they dont accept it? So then not an option for me.

I did, and for the most part they all accept both Fidelis and Blue cross Blue shield. So that's why I'm asking. Not sure which to choose.
Anyone know if one is better than the other? Do Drs. prefer one over the other bec of the rates they get?
Thanks all!

Empire is considered a great plan. Many Dr's in Manhattan take it despite it being a Medicaid plan.

I am wondering if this has to do with De Blasio letting 600,000 illegals get free healthcare. https://www.theyeshivaworld.co......html . Probably put them on United Healthcare and then told providers they were lowering payments. I wouldn't be surprised.

Read carefully because 600,000 is the total number who would benefit and not just undocumented which are only 300,000.
This would be a separate program which would expand on services already offered by municipal hospitals. Providing treatment at an ER is already done and it’s expensive and provides poor medical care.
Care would not necessarily be free but would provide a low cost alternative by the city hiring primary care physicians.

You clearly have very little understanding of the world of health care. This is not how things work.
