Seeking hotels in Cancun. Am not looking for five star hotel. Would like something decent, in a safe area, and walking distance to kosher restaurants (even 20 minute walk). Hoping to spend up to $200/night. I was never in Cancun and am lost! Please help me with your recommendations! Thanks.

All hotels are on the hotel strip and it’s a completely safe neighborhood. ( make sure you’re not looking at downtown Cancún)
Do you want a hotel on the water?

also depending on the time of the year that you’re doing the price range might be unrealistic.
Do you have any CC points that you can use

I checked prices and I think it's realistic. Would love to hear recommendations from people who have actually been there.

I'm so happy for you that you're going to cancun. I went 2 weeks ago from sunday to wednesday and had an amazing time.
We booked through expedia and paid 1300 for airfare, hotel, and shuttle to/from hotel (2 ppl). I stayed at the Hotel Riu Cancun all inclusive. It is beautiful, clean, and the staff is eager to please. There is a chabad house right across the street where my husband could daven with a minyan and we ordered delicious fresh hot meals from them. There is both a milchig and a fleishig restaurant in walking distance.
feel free to ask any other questions.

I think it's 4.5 stars. I had a view of the ocean and a small balcony.

We once stayed at the Ritz Carlton with points. It has old class charm, was sparkling and beautiful, and I really enjoyed it, though dh wanted something more modern. Smile It wasn't walking distance to the restaurants though. But there are lots of good hotels there so just choose something from a brand name you trust.

Riu Cancun All Inclusive
Blvd. Kukulcan, Km 9, Manzana 50, Lote 5, Cancun, QROO, 77500 Mexico

just want to add one thing
we were woken up one night at around 12/1 by some drunk guests banging on the door, after a minute they went away
another night the people next door were extremely noisy and we heard them through the wall.
I'm wondering if hotel guests in a more expensive place are better behaved? just wanted to let you know so you could make your own decisions.
personally, overall I had an amazing experience and I have reservations this year again in the same hotel!!
lmk if you have any more questions about this hotel.

Prices for flights and hotel fluctuate very much depending on the season and specific week. If you're flexible with dates, try plugging in different dates,
