Hi
I am interested in a 14k white gold natural diamond eternity band. The stones are 0.40 carat, round, VS2 clarity. One jeweler told me $16k, the other $8k for the same ring. Any insight wouldn't be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Besides for carat weight and clarity, jewelers also will take color and cut into account. Those factors can literally create a gap like that
Check out bluenile.com to see what they have for comparison sake

What's the average price people spend on an eternity band?

I have a platinum one with very small diamonds. If it would have been gold, it would have been a quarter/fifth or sixth of the price. So the metals, in addition to the diamonds impact the price.
Also, there's no average. People spend between $2,000 to $50,000 and less and more depending on what you can afford, tastes, etc.
