When I have my kids home from school I try to enforce rest time but it usually just makes fights. I need the break in middle of the day, and I am sure down time is good for the kids as well. Not to mention the younger children who still need to nap, but resist when they see they're older siblings not napping!
My oldest is four and has rest time in school. He doesn't sleep ( as far as I know) but really enjoys it!
Does anyone have tips to make rest time into an enjoyable routing that we can all look forward to?

Do it in a "fun" setting - mini pop-up tents in a dark-ish room (no lights on, but yes natural light), bedroom with relaxing music playing softly; inside a fort-like creation of blankets, etc.
Get them books to read or coloring books, something very calm.

Thanks for the ideas! How long can I realistically expect them to stay?
