Scalloped Potatoes in Advance

Can I slice and layer the potatoes with sauce in a pan now, to bake later? Or will the potatoes become soggy and liquid separate?

I'm using Yukon gold potatoes which don't really brown. But I didn't end up having enough time to prepare this morning, so I couldn't cut them in advance after all. Sad
I'd still like to know for next time though.

I just meant slicing and saucing the potatoes the night before or the morning of and then baking when I come home.

I have frozen scalloped potatoes. I froze it fully cooked. Stuck it in the oven fully frozen and covered on 350 for a long time, then I uncovered to get to liquid out . Again for a long time...
It actually tasted better defrosted . Was delish

I prep potatoes in advance and put them in the pan with water. You can prep the sauce separately and then assemble right before baking.

Any good recipes for scalloped potatoes. Especially the recipe that someone mentioned that they froze.
