My 8 year old daughter has been night trained since 4 and has never woken up wet. This month she woken up wet 6 times in middle of the night. The past 4 years she has always woken up once in middle of the night to use the bathroom. There are no major changes in our lives, she is not eating or drinking differently, she seems to feel fine otherwise, and there are no other signs of any issues. Has anyone dealt with this? Any ideas of what could suddenly cause it?

First thing to do is a urine culture to check for UTI. If you end up getting a positive, make sure to give her tons of probiotics while treating with the antibiotics (diff hours of course) because the antibiotics can cause cycles of resistance.

Agree with checking for infection first. Only time dd ever had an accident was when she had strep.

Check her temperature. Even if it's only a little bit higher than usual, her body may be busy fighting something off. It may pass before she even has time to show that she was ever getting sick in the first place.

Another thing, ask her about her dreams. If she's processing something that's bothering her, it may change her REM cycle in sleep, which could in turn prevent her from waking up in time to use the bathroom.

As posters above mentioned, check for pinworms, strept, or UTI. Its common to wet when the kids has them. Or check if she's constipated, it can also cause wetting.
