Was surprised to see advertisement for Kesser BY applications in Monsey... half the ad was in Yiddish and I thought I was already familiar with all chassidish schools in Monsey.
Just out of curiosity... is this a new school? Or I stam didn’t hear about it? Because the name seems familiar, but I never heard of it in a discussion about chassidish monsey schools.

It opened this year and is a Chassidish school. I know a few people who send their kids there and they are very happy BH. One is from Williamsburg. Some of the administration was involved in Bais Dovid I think, but this school caters to Chassidim rather than a mixed crowd.

It's a chassidish school. I've heard great things about it. I know afew families that moved out from Williamsburg that send there.

It's meant to be the Chassidish competition to Bais Rochel as BR is packed and gives people a hard time getting in.

Very different crowd though just like Portnoy's BY has a different crowd (although it is yeshivish).

Call them. Maybe they'll have additional grades next year.

Is it more of a Williamsburg chassidish crowd or more of a middle of the road chassidish type that would also send to bais rochel?

My friend sends there and is involved in the school. She is someone who would have sent to bais rochel. Son is in Bais dovid. She herself went to bais yaakov.

They seem to very tough on the technology rules. Mothers can't have even filtered smartphones. I really need mine for work. Should I not bother applying? I wonder what all the other mothers use.

I find it hard to beleive that they dont allow filtered devices for work purposes. They might ask you for a certificate from TAG. You should apply.
