I have read that radishes make a fantastic substitute for potatoes in a cholent. Never tried it, though. I keep meaning to...🙂

They don’t behave like potatoes... I think that cooking them then roasting would be best for a side dish. Once I made a dip out of boiled ones.. in a veg soup, boiled. They’re bland and not sharp like when fresh.

Agree, it’s the carbs and sugars that cause cravings.

if what you didworks for you im very happy and congratulate you I believe you have found a great way. but it is not EVERYONES way. for me planning cake or whatever other food I like to eat at a social event, a gathering a kumsitz etc. is part of NORMAL life I wouldnt like to skip it. my weight loss works despite this and im happy and satisfied. not saying that this is working for everyone but it is definitely a legitimate approach and totally NORMAL.
forbidding 50% of foodtypes (ie starches and sugars) would kill me. I would probably stop craving them when im in ketosis but I wouldnt feel like I have the free choice at events etc. also if I would skip my plan ones I would probably have regrets etc. whereas my system wants works for me because I can simply choose in moderate doses and not regret.
everyone should stick to what works for them |
If OP wants her cravings to stop, giving in to them will on,y increase the cravings. It’s a vicious cycle. Sweets do not satisfy cravings, they just increase them.

Hi, want to thank you all.
Andrea I did it.
A week of Keto
All cravings vanished.
Read through all your posts and loads online...
Thank you!!!
Shabbos I found super hard, I ate the required amount of spelt matza (easiest on stomach) but I found the multiple courses difficult. I’m eating despite not being hungry...
Any suggestions where I can eat support and ideas from?

Wow! I’m so happy for you! Pm me your email address and I’ll send you some info. I actually eat very simply, so despite my food service background, I’m REALLY boring food wise.
I only eat food I like though. And as you go you start to learn how to stop when you’re full. It’s a marathon, not a sprint!

It’s just ground dark meat made into meatballs and boiled in soup.

You don't mix anything with the ground meat?

Nope. Wet your hands like you would for matza balls.
