I specifically noted in my post that this was years ago and from what I’ve heard they have stopped the hitting. But in general I think they still are more old school and to the right. Nothing wrong with that, just giving OP a picture so she can figure out if it’s for her.

Things are not like it used to be but I can not say that it's perfect. There is plenty of room for improvement. When I applied to Bais Mikroh years ago, there were some rebbeim that hit too. All schools are changing as there is less tolerance for these things.
