All right. Couldn’t figure out where to put this.

We just gave DD a new siddur and she asked for us to inscribe it. I have ideas but would love to hear your thoughts. English only please. She won’t want to try enough to understand the Hebrew words to appreciate it.

Thanks so much.

I think only *your* words in *your* style will speak to your DDs heart. Don't take other people's words.

How old is your DD? Has she just learnt to read, or is she older? Is it her first siddur? All this makes a difference. You wouldn't write the same for a 6 year old as you would for a 16 year old.

I'm not a very gushing, wordy person, so I would write something like:

Dear DD.
We love you and we love seeing you daven from your new siddur.
May all your tefilot always be answered.
All our love, Ima and Abba.

But if that's not you, don't write it.

Thanks for the advice. I am not the sentimental type. DD14 is. We just gave her a siddur with a personalized siddur cover and she asked for an inscription.

I know my strengths and trying this in my own may just be above my paygrade. I’m not asking anyone to write something for me. Writing I can do. What I need is ideas and concepts from fellow imas that I can expand on and make personal, full sentences not required.

This siddur will always be there with her. In good times to thank HaShem and to praise him and during difficult times to turn to him for help and chizuk.

Connecting to HaShem and feeling his protection always will give her a sense of security.

Your biggest wishes for her, to always feel close to HaShem .
