My baby probably won't be walking at the start of the summer. Do babies go barefoot or wear something? Please help, first time mom here.

There’s no need to put anything on their feet in the summer. Crawling is actually easier when barefoot.

Barefoot. No need for shoes before she walks.

One caveat to barefoot, just be careful about hot surfaces. Sometimes the playground flooring or whatever gets extremely hot from the sun and a cruising baby can chas veshalom get burns on his feet. Keep a pair of moccasins or crib shoes for those times.

And no socks either? Is the answer the same on shabbos?

I personally don’t like the no sock look when a baby is dressed. To me it looks like socks were forgotten so I always put socks on. No shoes till she started walking

Robeez are the best!
When DD started walking (indoors) I let her go barefoot a lot. The nerve feedback from the sole of her foot to her brain helped her get her balance a lot better, than if her feet were "muffled".

OP, no socks, even on shabbos. Even my toddlers don't wear socks under their sandals/sneakers in the summer.
Most babies anyways pull their socks off.

We don’t do socks in the summer. Not for babies or anyone.

The trend now for babies & toddlers is no socks in summer. For infants barefoot. For toddlers sandals without socks till they go to school

Barefoot in the stroller, pull on moccasin shoe socks when crawling around.
If they're indoors and it's cold with the A/C on, make sure they're dressed appropriately even if there's a heatwave outside.
