Im looking to buy my first (post bat mitzva) camera.
Looking for something good for a beginner-I dont need it to do cartwheels, but would like something I could learn on. Im not planning on being a professional photographer but would like to take nice pics of my kids at siddur parties and through the summer etc.
Anyone can recommend me something? Willing to spend probably up to 1,500-2,000 shekel. Although I have no idea how much would be a reasonable amount either really!
Please enlighten me imamothers

A lot of people I know got the Canon g9x and they're very happy with it. Easy to use yet also has advanced features. I'd get it for myself when I find a good deal, but at $420 it seems to be at the lower end of your budget.
