What's the best way to reheat it with it tasting as fresh as possible?

I let it sit out on the countertop for a few hours. Then cover with foil and reheat in the oven for an hour or two . The top won't be crispy.

Best way ever is to pop it straight from the freezer into the oven, uncovered, on high. Do not let it defrost first or it will taste waterlogged and soggy. The idea is you want to blast all the defrosting moisture right outta it. A 9x13 will take a good hour or so...
My kugel always tastes fresh this way. Even my husband, who is very picky with his potato kugel and likes things fresh, eats it without a problem.

I put about a quarter cup water on top of the kugel, close tightly and bake at 300 for 1.5 hours

I out it into oven straight from freezer uncovered until it's piping hot. Usually about 2 hours. Top is crispy and yummy!
