Short on help to line cabinets, I'm trying to simplify as much as possible. I have a pantry and a room near the kitchen. So I'm thinking, instead of lining the cabinet over the counter where we bake, let's just have a bin with sugar, oil, potato starch & cocoa, which we'll take out when we bake & put back in the pantry when we're done.
How big?
Also for my Oster (do I date myself?) and the food processor with attachments, I think each should be in a sturdy plastic bin.
Now, I could theoretically go to the Organizing Shoppe & they'd tell me what to buy. If I were capable of braving crowds & standing in lin. Which I'm not.
So if y'all can tell me what size bins I should get, I will place an order from Amazon or Walmart.
I already ordered my dishracks & drainboards (which got all mixed up w chometz last year) for what seems an astronomical sum but I have a feeling they've gone up & I'd have spent as much were I brave enough to go to Walmart ($10 a rack? $7 a drainboard? Plus shipping?)
Listen, it's still way cheaper than a hotel.

I love the idea! I think maybe I'll do that.
How big depends on the size of the stuff you want to put in it. Take 2 minutes and some measuring tape.. Measure how much space your baking stuff takes on the pantry shelf. If you haven't bought it yet, make your best guess from last year. Then, Google bin with those measurements and see what comes up.

You don't need cannisters, just pour the stuff into Ziploc bags.

That sounds like a great idea to carry multiple supplies at a time. Also need to make sure walls are strong and high.
I bought a cabinet years ago based on advice on imamother. I keep near the kitchen with a lot in it this way I don’t need to empty too many cabinets. During the year it is in my basement and stores pesach supplies.
Mixer I keep on counter when not yom tov and just put in a box away somewhere on yom tov to clear the counters. Not sure that a case to stick it in would be easy. Heavy to lift in and out the case And it would get dirty.

Just some advise
1. Make sure the container is not too heavy to carry
2. If it’s going to be in a cabinet make sure the size of the sontainer fits with the cabinet door closed

I just did this. I bought a bunch of baskets and filled one with baking supplies and one with spices and salt etc. , that way it all gets put back together on a shelf in the pantry and makes it easy to find my stuff on Pesach.
However I didn't get large baskets, rather baskets that fit my shelves. So things like potatoe starch, almond flour, oil etc, larger items are not in baskets. But baking powder, vanilla sugar, honey etc. is.
I got a pack of 16 of the same Sterlite basket from Walmart for 14.99. I've been using them for organization around my house and just ordered another case of 16 for my kitchen because I love them so much. It arrives two days after ordering .

Thunderstorm, can you post a link to the item you ordered? That sounds like it would be very helpful to have to organize my kitchen.

Does anyone here have an opinion: should I go with
Sterilite Deep Ultra Basket
- Dimensions: 16" L x 13 1/8" W x 10" H. (looks like it will hold a detergent & fabric softener, or a soccer ball & a football)
or
Sterilite Medium Ultra Basket
- Dimensions: 13 3/4" L x 10 3/4" W x 5" H.
Size of shelves isn't an issue bec I can either use my pantry or some big plastic shelves in the adjacent room.
(I'm feeling pretty lousy right now so don't have the energy to assemble the cocoa, potato starch, sugar & oil to measure : ) so I think I'll have to guess that the larger one will be more useful.

Hi I do something similar to this. I think the mother who said to consider the weight is right on target. I buy large plastic containers for the big quantity items like sugar, cocoa, etc. then I have a container about the size of tray you would carry a dinner plate on (12x18?) to hold everything else. Makes clean up a breeze! Chag kasher v'sameach! may Hashem renew your energy!

These binsare great! I think I will order more! Maybe even for after Pesach to have a professionally organized pantry!
I'm not even talking about transfering sugar to a bin, zip lock bags work fine for that. More for organizing different types of items. Great idea!
