Long story short (ish). I wanted to get a box of shmurah for a friend who is very sick.and not frum. For both of these reasons, I wanted it to be really good. We don't have a place to buy it where I live and I only bought the bare minimum for myself so I couldn't give her one of mine. I asked a neighbor, who was going to Brooklyn for shabbos, to pick me up a box. And he got it at Costco! I assume he was aware of my financial situation and trying to help but I have never tried the Costco one and my impression is that it is not very good. I really don't want to give it to her if it isn't! !! Has anyone tried it?

It tastes like Shmura Matzah. Is there really good Shmura Matzah?

I happen to like it and I have the impression that may others do. Anyone else?

Tell her to put it in the oven on a very low heat for about 10 minutes to make it really crisp.

I'm not aware of much variation in recipe. People tend to look for unbroken matza, and for whether you can trust the bakery. Costco's matza is fine on both counts.

It's the same as any other shmura.

Thin Matzah is very desirable - as an added item... and different varieties of wheat would in theory produce a different taste.

It's pretty decent matza.

Its fine. It does the job. And for those who dip, its very good with Costco smoked whitefish salad (which is klp).

Thank you. I have done that at home ad I know it is amazing. But in her case it needs to be ready to go and delicious. She is ill and eating very little.

Let me fix that for you:

Thin Matzah is very desirable - to YOU.

I personally really dislike thin matzah.

The thicker the better

Matza is called "the bread of our affliction" for more than one reason. Your definition of "good" may vary.

IMHO, the only way it is good, is as a vehicle for a large amount of cream cheese and green olive spread.

I couldn't care less about the thickness of MY Matzah. But from what I read here - in terms of what people seem to really seek out - is thin matzah.

Sorry, FF, I usually agree with you but this time you are wrong. Sweet butter and coarse sea salt.
