recently, and as time goes on, more often, my computer has been freezing or stahm knocked my internet off (I have dsl). I would need to press the power button a good 5\10 seconds to turn it off so I can turn I tback on. its also been really really slow and seems to get easily overloaded if I try to do a few things at once (I guess its male, lol). what can I do to fix this? what can be wrong?

one more thing, instead of screensaver the screen freezes and the icons disappear so its just my wall paper and to go back I need to press alt control delete.
PLEASE HELP!!!
